Education
Assoc Prof.Erdem Guven graduated from Istanbul Kabataş Erkek High School in 1992. Dr. Guven graduated from Istanbul University Medical Faculty in 1998 and subsequently he work as an observer in 1998 to 1999 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the United States. Dr Guven completed his residency in 2004 at the Istanbul Medical Faculty Department of plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery Department to receive his specialist degree. In 2003, he presented an alternative surgical technique for face transplantation at the 25th Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Congress, earning the first award in the clinical category.
He completed his fellowship on maxillofacial surgery in 2009 at the istanbul medical school. He also get his minor speciality degree on Hand Surgery and Microsurgery in 2010.
Dr. Guven attended the "Endoscopic Forehead and Mid-Face Rejuvenation" course In 2005 which were organized from American Aestehtic Surgeon Comminity in San Diego, USA.
He started working as a chief officer doctor in the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine In 2006.
During his tenure at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Guven received his associate professor degree in 2011.
Erdem Güven closely followed domestic and international scientific organizations and congresses, frequently taking part in these events. In March 2013, he was invited as a guest speaker at the "Barcelona Breast Meeting" held in Barcelona, Spain, where he presented the "Endoscopic Breast Reconstruction Technique After Mastectomy Due to Breast Cancer," a procedure performed by a limited number of centers worldwide. Erdem Güven is a member of the Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, Turkish Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and ISAPS, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
He has published 56 articles in mentioned international journals and 16 articles in national journals, in addition to participating in numerous domestic and international congresses and panel discussions. Erdem Güven has made significant contributions to the literature on breast reconstructions, particularly in cases of deformities caused by cancer and other diseases. He specializes in surgeries such as breast reconstructions, correction of breast deformities, body contouring procedures, microsurgical repair surgeries, jaw and facial surgeries and aesthetic surgical procedures. He is married and has two children.
